Our Curriculum
Qur’an & Tajweed
Quran & Tajweed
At Iqraa Academy, Quran is at the heart of our learning. Our goal is to help students build a strong connection with the Holy Quran through accurate reading, meaningful understanding, and heartfelt recitation.
Our Quran & Tajweed program focuses on four key areas:
Quran Reading (Qira’ah)
Students begin by learning how to read the Quran fluently and correctly, progressing through:
Letter recognition and pronunciation
Joining letters and forming words
Reading short surahs and verses with confidence
Applying the correct rules of elongation, pauses, and stopping points
Whether students are just beginning or have some prior experience, our teachers guide them at their own pace in small, supportive groups.
Tajweed Rules
Tajweed is the science of beautifying Quranic recitation. Students learn:
The correct articulation of letters (makharij)
Basic and advanced tajweed rules such as ikhfa, idghaam, qalqalah, ghunnah, etc.
How to recite with fluency, clarity, and respect for the sacred text
How to recognise and apply rules while reading actual Quranic verses
We make tajweed practical and accessible so students develop a love for reciting properly from an early age.
Quran Memorisation (Hifdh)
Students are encouraged to memorise selected surahs and verses, helping them:
Build a lifelong connection with the Quran
Strengthen their memory and focus
Recite confidently in prayer and daily life
Each child progresses at their own level, and regular revision is included to support long-term retention. Memorisation is celebrated and encouraged in a joyful and motivational environment.
Quran Meaning & Reflection (Tafsir Basics)
In addition to reading and reciting, students are guided to understand the meaning of the verses they learn. This includes:
Simple explanations of short surahs
Key vocabulary and themes in the Quran
Stories and lessons drawn from the Quran
Encouraging personal reflection and discussion
This helps students see the Quran as a guide for everyday life—not just a book to be read, but a source of wisdom and inspiration.
We aim for every student to leave each class not only improving their Quran skills, but also feeling closer to Allah (SWT) through the words of the Quran.
